Naomi approached me to photograph her and Fredrik’s wedding late last year. I had photographed her sisters wedding where she was a bridesmaid so we already had a really lovely rapport. From the minute I met Fredrik I’m like these guys are just too gorgeous together, I really need to do an engagement shoot with them. Something sexy and gorgeous and a bit different to the norm. Fred has modelled a bit and been an extra on TV so he has a pretty good look and the accent is just to die for!
I’d been following Lynda Gardner’s beautiful styling work at both her Apartment in St Kilda and at her stunning wedding venue Trentham Estate. I really wanted to shoot in the space and when I was chatting to Nay and Fred and they said they were living in St Kilda and really wanted to buy a cool apartment there and loved the vibe I thought they would be perfect. I contacted Lynda and booked The Apartment for two nights (so I got to stay there as well!) then got my very good friend Candice from Beauty Within onboard to do hair and makeup and she organised some Mae’s Sunday robes and lingerie to play with from the lovely Kara Jade Designs and we were away! I really wanted to show the connection between these two and how everyday things and the mundane can be sexy when shared with someone you love. I really hope you like it too!
