From their first meeting back at their old stomping ground, Blitz nightclub in Berwick, Cley soon discovered the way to Lauren’s heart was through food. When he grabbed a lift with Lauren and a group of friends and went back to his house to watch the World Cup on TV, Cley made everyone pasta. “I found him annoying at first haha but then he definitely warmed up on me with his pasta making skills”.

After that night their paths didn’t cross again until 2 years later when Cley messaged Lauren over Facebook asking how she was. The rest is history, they just hit it off and before they knew it they were an item. Cley says it was love at first sight for him but it took him a while to get his ducks in a row!
Lauren says “What makes us perfect is that I clean and he cooks hahaha no jokes!”
They just work together, they understand each other and don’t take life too seriously unless necessary. They both love their friends and family and value their guidance. “We both work hard and are always striving for the future. We lean on each other when in need and just have fun.”
After a very cute proposal at home 5 years into their relationship the wedding planning began. Originally planning to get married at her father’s farm they went and visited the Stones of the Yarra Valley. The moment they drove up the drive way they knew this was the one. With its beautiful grounds, an amazing barn and a beautiful big elm tree they were satisfied that’s where they wanted to marry.
They had their ceremony under the elm tree, which was just so beautiful and relaxing followed by the reception in the barn.
The most important thing to Lauren & Cley was that they had all the people they loved at their wedding. “We wanted everyone in that room to have a connection with us. So instead of allowing our parents to invite whoever they wanted we asked them that we choose our guest list. After our wedding our parents told us they understood why we did that, because everyone in that room was there for us and you could see it and feel the love, as each person had a bond with us.”
