The Farm Wedding // Rustic Style // Jamie & C-Jay

C-Jay and Jamie’s love story begins in their final year of high-school. They became friends due to the casual conversations you tend to have in the common room before classes start. Tentative moments in an empty senior-building left them with the sense that there was a spark which needed to be tended to. However, it wasn’t until they were free of high school that they acted on this sense; they instigated beach hangouts and trips to the movies just as ‘friends’.

They were official before Christmas. The pair never had an official first date but simply went with the flow. They adore the natural progression their relationship took, as they grew closer, they went from friends to something more and then to the wonderful couple they are today.

The first ‘I love you’ came from Jamie. In an interesting approach, Jamie chose to express his feelings whilst he was dropping C-Jay home after one of many dates. Armed with the perfect escape method, Jamie spat out the dreaded words and then sped off in his car without waiting for C-Jay’s reply. Perhaps not the most romantic situation, but somehow right for this unconventional couple. C-Jay and Jamie consider themselves to be a perfect yin and yang, as they compliment one another beautifully. They have continued to grow and mature together, and always strive to be one another’s cheerleaders.

When it came to the proposal, Jamie was far more confident. Under the pretense of going for brunch, he instead took C-Jay to their favourite beach. Whilst she was distracted taking photos of the waves, Jamie set up the camera, called her over and popped the question. She didn’t hesitate for a moment before yelling ‘yes!’.

The couple were married at The Farm Yarra Valley and both have declared their wedding to be the perfect celebration of their love. They chose this venue due to it’s wonderful blend of rustic and modern features, and adored having their ceremony overlooking a beautiful river and rolling green hills. The day itself felt like one big party.

After the ceremony, guests sat under the huge trees, enjoyed delicious food and drinks, listened to the live music and played the vast array of lawn games. From start to finish, Jamie and C-Jay’s wedding was filled with their own personalised touches, from the bridal party’s involvement in the ceremony to unplanned comedic additions, the day really just felt like an encapsulation of them. To end the night on a packed dance floor as all of the guests partied the night away, was the necessary finishing touch to what was already a magical day.
